Social contract

  A social contracti s a contract in which the citizens give up some of their rights of nature for protection that the government guarantees. 

     Thomas Hobbes and John Locke strongly believed in social contracts. Hobbes thought they were necessary to get out of the state of nature and to form a government. Locke agreed in having a social contract in which he also believed the government should have all, if not most, of the power. But the power was to only to inforce laws. 

  My group made a social contract and these are the rules; 

It was tough to decide on what rules to  include. Overal we thought we did a good job deciding the rules for our social contract. There were some changes I would change due to constructive critisism. I would change the last rule to four guards instead of two just in case someone falls a sleep or if there was a lot more thieves than two men can handle. Also, I would change rule 5. I would change it to; when the size reaches a quarter of the original size then every 10 people get two representatives. Lastly, rule number three would be changed to; all problems will be sorted out by a dibate then a vote.

Absolutism Post

          Absolute rulers are rules that have complete power over everything in their territory. These rulers believed that God chose them to rule over everyone, that even meant the church. King James I thought it was wrong to question a king. According to him kings will "... refuse them." Also, he tells Parliament not to meddle with his god given power. There isn't just a definition for an Absolute Ruler; there are guide lines for them as well. First, one must be given the God-given right to rule over people. second, they must have and use their powerful army to gain land for their territory. Also, they should limit the power of nobles and church officials, since they want and have all the power they can have. They also should be able to make laws and dispense justice, any great selfish person should be able to do this so they feel like a winner. They need to ignore representative assembles because their word is the only thing that matters. Most of all what is a king(or queen) without their riches.
         The absolute Ruler, Oliver Cromwell, dethroned Charles I and beat him in two civil wars. Cromwell used his magnificent army to not only win those civil wars, but to also defeated the Scottish and the Irish just because they seemed a little on the shady side or "potential traitors," as the reading on him said. He was a big Puritan believer and so with that said he banned Christmas, had everyone wear the same old boring clothing, and banned playing sports on Sunday(if you were caught playing sports you were whipped). Also, this guy banned swearing; which was punishable by a fine. Even though he seemed paranoid he wasn't thought as strict. He loved music and entertainment. What he did to the Irish was the most cruel. He slaughtered them and sent their children off to the West Indies to work as slaves on sugar plantations knowing that many would die out there.
          My opinion on Oliver Cromwell is that he was a cruel, unkind man, but he was overall an okay ruler. He kept people under control by splitting England up into 11 areas in which picked trusted officials will take care of their area. He also, like before, loved entertainment like music I am guessing that it was religious music, but it would have given the children something to do on Sunday. Also, when he ruled the religious freedom was greater than ever. Not only were people allowed to be involved in private studies, they didn't even have to be part of The Church of England. Many different religions were able to communicate with others.

I began with the sprites of the game, then worked on the backdrops later. One of the problem I had was to get the arrow keys to move the sprite. I fixed it by using three keys and the space bar for movement. Also I had problems with getting the coin to add a point when touched. I fixed it by saying instead of when the colors touch add a point; I did when the ball touches the coin, then add a point. I' m most proud of the way the game looks and moves. I was disappointed when I couldn't get all the coins to add a point, but the it added more difficulty to the game if you hid the coin that actually gave points.

I would describe broadcasting to someone else as broadly casting it to them. You would use timing when you want things to stop and start at specific times and broadcasting when you want it to keep going for as long as it wants.

I would explain "make a block" as a way to make room for other scripts. I might use a block when my script is extremely long and need to make space for more blocks.

Part 1 Scratch project

My scratch game is going to be a maze game where you have to maneuver through blocks to get to the and point. I will choose a black background for the first level and a white for the next. The game will not be scored, but timed. You win by getting to the finish line before time runs out. For a sprite it will be a ball.
